BACKCOUNTRY & YOGA WORKSHOP

Date: 3rd - 10th February 2024

Location: Grimentz, Switzerland

This workshop is about discovering more of the wonderful world that is the backcountry. It’s for snowboarders who are experienced riding off-piste and are looking to progress their powder riding and take their backcountry skill sets to another level.  Neil and Jenny will help you to read the natural lay of the land, choose your line and get the best out of your descent. This means being creative and playful with your natural surroundings whilst maintaining a strong awareness of the mountains. As knowledge is your greatest strength in the backcountry, they will dedicate time to increasing your knowledge on avalanche awareness to ensure that you come away from the workshop with a much greater insight into avalanche prevention.

Grimentz is a free riders heaven with empty, accessible backcountry terrain which stretches along the Becs de Bosson up to an altitude of almost 3000 metres.  The views of the Val d’Annivers and Rhone Valley are stunning and the adventuring possibilities for off-piste riding are vast. There will be a combination of hiking and lift accessed backcountry riding.  Every morning we will assess the weather and snow conditions to seek out the best snow for some great adventures.

Each day involves high levels of physical activity and huge adrenalin outputs. It is vital to be able to wind down, switch off and take care of the body which is why restorative yoga is a key element to the week.  The yoga sessions will help you to restore and re-energise your body, giving you the optimum chance to make the most out of riding all day, every day, for the whole week!
